In a distant future, humanity faces its greatest threat: the Bydo Empire, a bio-mechanical life form capable of corrupting and absorbing everything it touches. Originally created as a weapon, the Bydo became uncontrollable and came to exist beyond normal space, repeatedly attempting to invade human reality. After multiple wars and near-catastrophic events, they now return stronger, more adaptable, and more aggressive than ever.

To confront this new invasion, the Earth Space Corps develops the R-90 Ragnarok, a next-generation combat ship from the R-Type series. In the role of the R-90 pilot, you are assigned to hostile zones where normal space merges with the distorted Bydo dimension. The mission is clear: penetrate deep into enemy territory, dismantle the Bydo core networks, and destroy the heart of the empire before humanity is completely annihilated.

R-Type Dimensions III brings the intensity, precision, and creative enemy design of the original arcades to a new generation. All stages, bosses, and projectile patterns have been recreated with high-quality 3D graphics, improved animations, and richly detailed environments, preserving the iconic atmosphere that defined the series’ identity.

Continuing the legacy of R-Type Dimensions and R-Type Dimensions EX, this new version has been completely reimagined with next-generation visuals and sound, expanded game modes, and new features, offering the definitive modern edition of the classic R-Type era.
